If you have been watching this website you will be aware that the Big Local partnership in North Cleethorpes has been trying hard to get stuff done in the North Cleethorpes area.
There have been a number of successes particularly the development of the Pavilion on Sussex Recreation Ground which is now open for use by the public and providing much needed relief for those searching for a WC when exercising themselves or their dogs on the recreation ground.
There are a range of groups now using the Pavilion and they are all paying their way to make the upkeep of the pavilion sustainable.
We have then gone on to invest in lighting for the recreation ground which many say has made a positive difference to the use of the park and it’s security.
We have also invested in a high quality security camera which is compatible with the local policing team and can be moved and mounted in areas which the community choose to try and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.
Last summer we funded a family fun activity on the beach in front of the North Prom and a musical event on the promenade itself.
This has led to us working closely with the North Prom Traders group and an initial investment of £4000 in a social enterprise that is looking to develop a North Prom property into a venue for both learning and creativity.
We are also working closely with the North East Lincs Tourism Group to develop an ongoing range of activities over the summer months and beyond which will increase employment and leisure opportunities.
We are also going to make an investment in the new Cycle Hub behind Cleethorpes Station so that there will be around £500,000 invested in the upgrade of an old building with the funding coming in from a variety of sources.
We have now issued our plans for the coming year to the local trust and we will be pursuing a variety of projects in partnership with local people and groups.
