YMCA Humber has launched an exciting new youth club for children and young people aged 8 – 19 in North Cleethorpes. The creation of the youth club comes following a Youth Consultation delivered earlier in the year by Youth Partnership North East Lincolnshire. Youth Partnership North East Lincolnshire (YPNEL) is a consortium of local community and charity groups which give young people aged 8 – 19 and living in North Cleethorpes the opportunity to say what it is that they would like to see introduced in their community.
The youth club, which is based at The Pavilion on Sussex Recreation Ground, takes place every Monday from 4pm – 8 pm and is split into two age groups. Between the hours of 4pm and 6pm, the youth club is open to children aged between 8 and 12. From 6pm until 8pm, the youth club is open to young people aged 13 – 19. Aside from offering children and young people with a safe place where they can socialise with their peers, the youth club gives attendees the opportunity to take part in activities such as sport, art and music, and engage with positive adult role models. Entry to the youth club is 50 pence, per person per week to cover the cost of the building and the activities the club provides.
YMCA Humber are currently in the process of recruiting volunteers to help run the youth club each week. If you are interested in a career in youth work or are a resident of North Cleethorpes and want to do something nice for your community, why not enquire about becoming a volunteer? Volunteers will be required to complete a DBS check and will be enrolled on safeguarding level 1 and first aid training.
