Local business steps in to donate TV to Cleethorpes Youth Group

It’s been a few weeks of highs and lows for the Cleethorpes Youth Group – CYC Hangout. Just as the group was gearing up for an event to celebrate the Royal Wedding recently they were gutted to discover that their newly acquired TV had been stolen!

But the community rallied round with local people and businesses expressing their disappointment about the loss and stepping in to offer support. And a local business – Ocean Fish Bar – did even more, by donating a brand new TV to the group!

So thanks very much to all the staff at Ocean Fish Bar for their generous support. Every cloud has a sliver lining and it’s nice to see the community rallying round such an important community offering as the Youth Group.

You can read much more about this story in the Telegraph here.

CYC Youth Group has been supported from the outset by Big Local North Cleethorpes who have helped purchase equipment, subsidise the venue rental and support with volunteering and staff support. The Youth Group is supported by YMCA, has volunteers involved at all levels from across the community and is going from strength to strength.
