Cyber security is a new issue that even the smallest charities and voluntary groups need to get to grips with.
If you have money or hold personal data or have a website then you have plenty of points of risk to a cyber attack. But putting things in place to reduce your risks of attack are not complex.
VANEL are commissioned to provide free cyber training to North East Lincolnshire charities, social enterprises groups etc. They are providing training sessions – either scheduled or bespoke according to group needs.
Big Local North Cleethorpes is also working in partnership with VANEL to extend this offer in North Cleethorpes. Cyber advice can be given 1:1 to your groups, involving your staff, trustees, committee, vounteers. We come to you or we can arrange sessions at 82 Grimsby Road.
And as well as the training, our IT support offer means we can help you to get cyber security measures put into place. We could help you with setting up backups, anti-virus, password policies, firewalls and more.
Drop into 82 on Fridays when Karl and Andy are around to chat through IT and Cyber (ideally between 11am and 2pm). Or call us (07523 772516) to find out about upcoming training dates or to arrange training or consultancy with yourselves.
In the meantime here’s a link to the cyber advice booklet for charities explaining it all. There’s a longer article on the VANEL website here which also has much more information and more links. You can do all this yourself, but we’re here to help make it clearer through training and 1:1s.
So please get in touch. Make sure your organisation is better protected against cyber attacks!
