Are you Loyal to Local? Shop locally to help support smaller businesses

A new marketing campaign has been launched by North East Lincolnshire Council and E-Factor to encourage residents and businesses in North East Lincolnshire to be loyal to buying local and supporting local businesses.

The Loyal to Local campaign aims to highlight that local is where your spend matters and that by doing so, people can make a real difference to their local economy, to local jobs and to local businesses.  Everyone is proud how the community has come together during the COVID crisis, but now is the time to continue to support local businesses, in the same way that many have supported the community during lockdown.

There is a dedicated website for the campaign http://loyaltolocal.co.uk/

Smaller, local, independent businesses have always been important to our community. They have been helpful to Big Local North Cleethorpes with their support during the refurbishment of our Community Hub at 82 Grimsby Road and we’re been keen to promote local businesses ourselves too (such as work with the businesses along the North Prom).

By using our local businesses we can all help our area to recover following lockdown. Now businesses are beginning to open, we can give them our trade to help them as they struggle to recover. Many local businesses have already been meeting recent challenges with deliveries, takeaways, supplying different products and more. Money spent in local shops can have a much bigger local impact than purchases from national chains.

Organisations such as Totally Locally (https://totallylocally.org/stuff/) promote shopping locally across Grimsby and Cleethorpes, and this new Loyal to Local campaign from North East Lincolnshire Council and E-Factor aims to encourage us all to shop more locally.

So visit the (www.loyaltolocal.co.uk) to find out more, and then shop locally (and safely) to support Cleethorpes.

Visit the Facebook page for Totally Locally here (https://www.facebook.com/TotallyLocallyNELincs) to find out more about some local businesses. And our Big Local website also includes details of all the local charity shops in North Cleethorpes which you can also support once they are open (www.biglocalnorthcleethorpes.org.uk/charityshops)

If you want to send us a photograph of you standing outside your local, North Cleethorpes based shop or business we’re looking at ways to help promote you on our website or through these local campaigns.  Just drop Karl an email at karl@vanel.org.uk.
