Charity Shops in Cleethorpes beginning to reopen

Across North Cleethorpes there are 10 charity shops. All raise money for good causes, help with recycling unwanted items, provide jobs and volunteering opportunities and provide additional community connectivity. Big Local encourages you to support your local Charity Shops!

The shops of course have been closed for a while now – and some still are. But slowly and carefully some of the shops are reopening.

We’ve got a page here detailing all the shops across our patch – so see which ones are near you to donate or shop at.

Bear in mind that things are very different at the moment. Shops are opening shorter hours. Layouts have changed to deal with social distancing and you’ll have to make sure you follow rules for social distancing when you visit.

Not all shops are even taking donations at the moment, or it’s being done differently.

Make sure you find out more about each shop and their rules before you visit. Lots have information on their websites or social media accounts or you can call them.

But if they are open then they’ll want you to visit (carefully), so please support them.

Latest updates (that we know about) as of now (mid July)

The Care shop, Womens’ Aid and British Red Cross shops have reopened.
The British Heart Foundation shop reopens on 20th July.
The RNLI shop is closed until at least September but if you want to support them their online shop is open for gifts and if you use the code CLEETHORPES when shopping, you’ll get free delivery!

Other shops are opening in due course so watch out for updates.

The CARE shop also has Big Local North Cleethorpes newsletters in stock if you want to pick one up and they also have fabric face masks that our volunteers have been making (more about that here). So pop in to pick one up. Thanks CARE for supporting us with this.

If you know something I don’t about opening/closing etc (especially if you’re one of these shops) then let me know (karl@vanel.org.uk).
