COMMUNITY POLICING

About Community Policing across the North Cleethorpes area

Do you want to keep up to date on what’s happening across North Cleethorpes?  Your local Community Policing team from Humberside Police would like to make sure you’re kept informed on important incidents and happenings around you.

My Community Alert

One way you can keep informed is to sign up for My Community Alerts. The My Community Alert system enables residents, businesses and community groups to find out about what is happening in their local area. By registering you will receive real time messages about incidents happening in your neighbourhood that may affect you or your family.

You can choose how you would like to receive messages – by text, voicemail or email – as well as how often you receive alerts about the issues that matter to you, from collisions and road closures to missing people.

Have a look at the My Community Alert system for North East Lincolnshire here and register yourself.

Local information from the Policing Teams

Find out who’s who on the local Policing teams.  North Cleethorpes consists of Sidney Sussex and Croft Baker teams.  Each of their webpages on the Humberside Police website give details of the officers and PCSOs in your area as well as plenty of local, up to date information about the issues important to where you live.

Visit the Sidney Sussex Policing team page here and the Croft Baker page here.

There’s more information on those pages about signing up for My Community Alerts too.

Police Drop-ins

And of course, perhaps the best way to engage is to speak to the local Officers and PCSOs face to face.  Drop-in sessions are taking place at the Big Local North Cleethorpes offices at 82 Grimsby Road Cleethorpes with the Sidney Sussex Policing Team on a regular basis.

The dates and times vary so keep an eye on the Big Local North Cleethorpes website for news of the sessions, or follow us on Twitter (@BLNCleethorpes), or visit the Police team pages where details of the upcoming dates are shared (here).

Current schedule:

COVID-19 update: At the current time the drop-ins at 82 Grimsby Road are on hold. There will be no drop-ins until further notice. Keep an eye on the Community Policing Team web pages instead. Thank you.

Neighbourhood Watch

A couple of parts of North Cleethorpes are covered by local Neighbourhood Watch groups. You may be part of one already.  But if you’re interested in finding out more about Neighbourhood Watch, and perhaps setting up a new group in your area then you need to be speaking with Glyn Atkinson. Glyn is coordinating Neighbourhood Watch groups across North East Lincolnshire and there’s much more information about this on the NELwatch website hereGlyn’s contact details are here.

Community Shredders

If you’re concerned about identity theft and want to make sure important documents containing personal information is completely destroyed, then you might like to know about the Community Shredder at Sidney Sussex Pavilion.  Take your documents across to shred them for free.  Make sure you check with the Pavilion first as to opening times.  There’s more information on the NELwatch website just here.
