BIG LOCAL INVESTMENT

What is BLNC working on around North Beach and the surrounding environment?
When things start to happen, details, how to get involved, pictures, videos and anything else relevant will appear here… So keep checking back.

We’re hoping to clear the north beach for community use, establish a long-term plan with partners, build a volunteer cohort for more environmental activity and to build a relationship with land-owners for future clear-ups.

To do this we intend to:

  • Gain permission from landowners.
  • Recruit volunteers.
  • Cover the cost of disposal and machinery.
  • Involve Humber Nature Partnership in long term plan development.
  • Develop a long term volunteer community beach care programme.

One of the Steering Group’s longest held ambitions is to clear debris from parts of the North Beach. Its currently noted and known that certain areas of the beach are unsightly, dangerous and unusable as public amenity – initially, this was hoped to of been a very straight forward process at the expenses of £30,000, which would of allowed for a specialist contractor and plant.
